Garath is an Assistant Director for Commissioning at Surrey County Council, where he is responsible for commissioning children’s social care, education and early help.
Garath has a professional background in youth and community work and has previously worked in education policy, schools, youth justice and social care.
In 2012, Garath led a commissioning programme that won the ‘Best Public Procurement’ awarded by the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply UK. This programme was acknowledged for delivering transformation and outcomes for young people. An alumnus of the Cabinet Office Commissioning Academy and a founding member of the Bold Commissioners Club; Garath is a thought leader in the sector. He has spoken nationally and internationally on commissioning outcomes and public sector reform and is committed to learning and discovering what works.
