GO Lab and Big Issue Invest launch their report: “Exploring Social Investment – An INDIGO Technical & Learning Report”

The International Network for Data on Impact and Government Outcomes (INDIGO) is a community of peers from different countries, sectors and policy domains with an interest in sharing data about social outcomes. INDIGO is also an emerging data collaborative where we learn and encourage better data for better social outcomes. Learn more about INDIGO here.

Together with Big Issue Invest, we are delighted to announce the launch of our Technical and Learning Report about our Social Investment/Fund Manager prototype. The report reflects on the lessons from the process of co-creating an extension to our main database, where we explored new ways to describe and visualise the role of a social investor or fund manager in impact bonds. Among many other learnings, the report shows different data visualisations that capture information from social investors, such as outcome payment timelines, investment timelines and technical assistance provision. You can learn more about the extension here.

In addition, Stefaan Verhulst (The Gov Lab, NYU) will discuss with us about data collaboratives. We will learn what data collaboratives are, how they are formed and what are the challenges they face. Next, we will share our reflections about the Hack-and-Learn event with participant from the hack-teams.

You don't have to be an expert coder or a data scientist to attend. Anyone with an interest in data for social outcomes is welcome! You can be part of INDIGO by using our datasets, providing feedback on our data definitions or participating in our peer learning sessions. If you are a social investor, we invite you to join our INDIGO community and explore possibilities of data sharing.

If you would like to join this session, get in touch with us at indigo@bsg.ox.ac.uk and you will receive an invitation with the agenda and Zoom link.
