Lessons from the world's first development impact bond for maternal health

Programme

In this session we will discuss the main findings from the midline report on quality and health outcomes from the Utkrisht Development Impact Bond (DIB) and explore insights and lessons learnt with the main stakeholders involved in the project. The session will feature a brief presentation of the main findings of the study, followed by a more in-depth discussion structured around core themes. We will take questions from the audience throughout the discussion. 

Part I

11.00am -  Welcome

Overview of the session and introduction of speakers

11.05am - Context setting

Dr Mary-Ann Etiebet, Executive Director of MSD for Mothers, will introduce the Utkrisht DIB, and reflect on the impetus for the DIB and roles of the different partners involved in the implementation of the project.

11.20am - Key findings from the Utkrisht DIB Midline Report

So O'Neil, Director of Health Foundations at Mathematica and one of the authors of the Utkrisht DIB Midline Report, will discuss the key findings and insights of the report. 

Part II

11.40am - Panel discussion and audience Q&A

Speakers will explore two areas of inquiry:  

  • Collaboration: What are the benefits and challenges of the Utkrisht DIB collaboration model?
  • Implementation: How does the structure of the Utkrisht DIB allow implementation partners to delivery quality care?

12.25pm - Concluding remarks
