How can responsible business have an impact on the ground as part of a place-based partnership? What kind of businesses have the motivation and capacity to act as a catalyst bringing different community stakeholders together? These questions were front of mind in when looking at a case of responsible business activity over the last decade.
The Wisbech Partnership was a voluntary place-based partnership of cross-sector organisations working to improve the social outcomes in the Cambridgeshire town. This case study examines this example of this partnership phenomena to inform an understanding of how responsible business can be engaged in a coordinating and transformative way in disadvantaged places.
